15 working days leave per annum
Standard hours 07:00 – 16:45 Monday – Thursday
07:00 – 14:00 Friday
May be required to work overtime as per operational requirements

Main Functions:
• Ensure safe, effective and efficient transportation of company material.
• Adhere to the assigned planned schedule and communicate accordingly when there is a need for deviation or unauthorized stop.
• Ensure that the truck is properly loaded and adheres to the prescribed load weight.
• Communicate immediately with relevant authorities with regard to delays emergencies; breakdowns, accidents and/or any other suspicious acts.
• Display a professional attitude and neat presentation when interacting with employees, clients and suppliers at all times.
• Ensure that nets cover all loads. – IN CONJUNCTION WITH POINT 1
• Timeously notify the Transport Controller when the vehicle’s service is due. – we have a set schedule
• Conduct daily inspection in the morning and report on any abnormalities to the Transport Controller.
• Tyre management: to follow correct and prescribed driving procedures in order to save tires and enhance tyre life.
• Vehicle management: follow instructions as per the manufacturer specification.
• Adhere to the traffic rules and regulations and all the relevant company set policies and procedures.
• Ensure that trucks are clean inside and out.
• Ensure that truck bodywork and branding is in good order, all damage to bodywork and branding to be reported immediately to logistics.
• Drivers to ensure driving behavior is not aggressive with regards to braking and accelerating and excessive idling
• Daily reporting of: trip sheet, vehicle check sheet and SC delivery note. – to logistics
• Ensure time sheets are – completed daily and handed to controllers

Requirements:
• Matric
• Code 14 with PrDP
• ABILITY TO DRIVE STRAIGHT AND AUTO/SEMI AUTO VEHICLES AND SPLIT GEAR BOX
• Knowledge of heavy vehicle ancillary equipment will be an added advantage
• 3 Years’ experience in a similar role a must
• Knowledge of heavy vehicle ancillary equipment will be an added advantage – repeated
• HERCHEM certification will be an added advantage
• Knowledge of road transport legislation
• ABILITY TO WORK OVERTIME INCLUDING POSSIBLE WEEKENDS
