{"id":296,"date":"2017-03-28T19:38:33","date_gmt":"2017-03-28T19:38:33","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/career74.co.za\/?p=296"},"modified":"2017-03-28T19:38:33","modified_gmt":"2017-03-28T19:38:33","slug":"thuthuka-bursary-fund-trust-applications-for-2018-have-now-opened","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/career74.co.za\/?p=296","title":{"rendered":"Thuthuka Bursary Fund Trust applications for 2018 have now opened"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Thuthuka Bursary Fund Trust applications for 2018 for aspiring Chartered Accountants have now opened.<\/p>\n<p>The Fund is aimed at creating a greater capacity at undergraduate level to overcome many of the historical impediments to SAICA\u2019s goal of transforming the accounting profession by actively supporting accounting students throughout their tertiary academic journey.<\/p>\n<p>The purpose designed Thuthuka Bursary Fund programme at the main residential universities covers tuition fees, life skills training, additional academic support programmes, mentorship programmes, textbooks, residential fees and a living allowance<\/p>\n<p><strong>Requirements for application of the Thuthuka bursary<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The learner must be African or Coloured<\/li>\n<li>The learner must be a South African Citizen<\/li>\n<li>The learner must obtain atleast 60% on Mathematics (5 or above on the NSC Scale of Achievement) NOT MATHS LITERACY<\/li>\n<li>The learner must be in Grd12 intending on studying B comm. Accounting<\/li>\n<li>The learner must be financially needy and will be assessed using the NSFAS MEANS TEST to confirm financial need<\/li>\n<li>The learner must not be out of Matric\/school for more than 2 years.<\/li>\n<li>To be considered for the Thuthuka Bursary Fund, you are required to register and write the National Benchmark Test (NBT).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>The learner must have or be in the process of applying to one of the following tertiary institutions:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>University of Johannesburg<\/li>\n<li>University of Cape Town (Bachelor of Commerce code CB011 )<\/li>\n<li>Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University<\/li>\n<li>Rhodes University<\/li>\n<li>Stellenbosch University<\/li>\n<li>University of Pretoria<\/li>\n<li>University of the Free State<\/li>\n<li>University of Witwatersrand (WITS)<\/li>\n<li>North-West University (Potchefstroom Campus)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Once the learner has met all the above requirements only then will the bursary be provisionally awarded to the learner pending the final Grade 12 results and availability of funding.<\/p>\n<p><strong>How to apply<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Applications close on 30 April 2017.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.saica.co.za\/Portals\/0\/LearnersStudents\/Thuthuka\/BursaryFundApplication.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Click here<\/strong><\/a> to download the Thuthuka Bursary Application Form, which must be forwarded to the address below upon completion.<\/p>\n<p><em>Bursary Postal address is:<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Thuthuka Bursary Fund<br \/>\nP.O.
