{"id":188,"date":"2017-03-08T21:05:09","date_gmt":"2017-03-08T21:05:09","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/career74.co.za\/?p=188"},"modified":"2017-03-08T21:05:09","modified_gmt":"2017-03-08T21:05:09","slug":"city-of-cape-town-electricity-services-in-service-traineeship-programme","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/career74.co.za\/?p=188","title":{"rendered":"City Of Cape Town: Electricity Services In-Service Traineeship Programme"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3>Requirements<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>\u00a0Protection \/ Engineering \/ Long Term Planning \/ Network Control \/ SCADA \/ EAM: Successfully completed S4 course in the related fi eld or in-service training still outstanding<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0GIS (Geo-Information System): Successfully completed S4 course in Geo-Information Science and Technology or in-service training still outstanding<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Measurement: Successfully completed S4 or N Diploma (NATED) course in the related field or in-service training still outstanding.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>For all of the above candidates must:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Be in possession of at least a valid code B driver \u2019 s licence<\/li>\n<li>Reside in the Cape Metropole.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Key Performance Areas<\/h3>\n<p>The City of Cape Town (Electricity Services) has one-year contractual positions for learner technicians, who would hold a Diploma or still require in-service training to obtain their S4 diploma, in the following disciplines:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Protection<\/strong> (MV field services; protection field services)<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0<strong>Measurement<\/strong> (automation; operations; and investigations)<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0<strong>Engineering<\/strong> (Planning and design of medium voltage and low voltage distribution systems, project management; customer connections)<\/li>\n<li><strong>\u00a0Long term planning<\/strong> (high voltage network analysis and forecasting of future load growth for the Cape Metro and new bulk load investigations.)<\/li>\n<li><strong>SCADA<\/strong> (power systems supervision remote control and data acquisition via communications)<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0<strong>GIS<\/strong> (Geo-Information Science)<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0<strong>Network control<\/strong> (compile switching programmes; updating relevant network control documents; conducting load flow studies; compile reports)<\/li>\n<li><strong>\u00a0Enterprise Asset Management (<\/strong>EAM) (Maintenance management; system and maintenance performance auditing; establishing standards for the maintenance of the electricity distribution system; service standards).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>How To Apply<\/h3>\n<p><strong>To apply for one of these positions, please submit:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Covering letter indicating your field of preference and at least one alternate eg. 1.
