class=\"job_detail_container\">\n<p><strong>Summary<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>To identify opportunities, propose, and implement network design improvement initiatives across Group Supply Chain activities resulting in supply chain efficiencies and cost reduction.<\/p>\n<p><strong>FUNCTIONS \/ RESPONSIBILITIES:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0Supply Chain analysis<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Analyse and document the internal supply chain processes to identify areas of leverage and opportunity for improvement within network planning, warehousing and distribution and materials handling.<\/li>\n<li>b) Research and gather external data and analytics to highlight best practice approaches, complete a comparative analysis against internal practice and provide business with comprehensive reports to highlight gaps, synergies and recommendations.<\/li>\n<li>c)\u00a0 Identify opportunities for synergistic projects to ensure the total supply chain organization is aligned and operating to the agreed Massmart framework.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Communication Stakeholders and key relationships<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Engage with external suppliers &amp; subject matter experts where necessary to facilitate the implementation of the identified technologies that will support and enhance business requirements.<\/li>\n<li>Facilitate the implementation and roll-out of best practice Supply Chain opportunities across the supply chain.<\/li>\n<li>Engage and facilitate discussions with internal stakeholders where required.<\/li>\n<li>Develop and maintain good relationships with members of the Massmart supply chain community, and relevant SC resources who has access to the relevant data and expertise.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Data analytics, modeling and process improvement opportunities<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Identify the data required (through data spec) that would meet the modelling requirements.<\/li>\n<li>b)\u00a0\u00a0 Analyze the data to identify weaknesses or gaps therein;<\/li>\n<li>Transform and prepare data for modelling; and<\/li>\n<li>Strong skills in the use of data management tools including but not limited to: Excel, Access, SQL and Dataguru.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Application of Llamasoft Modeling tool<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Develop network models that accurately answers business questions;<\/li>\n<li>Take initiative and suggest where Llamasoft can be used to support supply chain projects<\/li>\n<li>Be able to provide support in identifying future long-term requirements of the network through the following activities:<\/li>\n<li>calculating the cost of maintaining and operating the current network;<\/li>\n<li>analysing how cost is affected by different scenarios where facilities are closed, expanded, contracted or new facilities are acquired or constructed;<\/li>\n<li>analyzing network nodes and flow-paths;<\/li>\n<li>evaluating warehouse capacity for current and future operations to handle optimal product flows.<\/li>\n<li>Participate in modelling the long term and medium term scenarios around proposed network changes; and<\/li>\n<li>Create models to inform operating strategies, facilitate decision-making, make investment recommendations and identify new business opportunities<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"clr margin-bottom-20\"><\/div>\n<div id=\"ctl00_contentPrimaryPlaceHolder__ctrl_0_divCandReq\">\n<div class=\"profile_header\">Candidate Requirements<\/div>\n<div class=\"candidate_requirements_container\">\n<p><strong>Minimum Academic, Professional Qualifications &amp; Experience required for this position<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>BSc Industrial Engineer or associated Supply Chain &amp; logistics or Commercial degree<\/li>\n<li>5 + years relevant experience in Supply Chain<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Competencies &amp; Skills<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Core
