Transnet learnerships are structured in a way that they meet their areas of development. As we all know that a learnership is a structured learning system that is created to provide learners gain knowledge and work experience in the working environment. Learners are also provided with a qualification. The Transnet learnerships provide learners with monthly stipend. No accommodation is provided by Transnet, applicants must make sure that they apply for a learnership in areas closet to their place of residence.
The Transnet Learnership is one of the strategies that are used in South African to improve the country’s workforce skills and experience on the other hand also providing a qualification which is helpful for future endeavors. Transnet learnerships normally take 12 months or more to complete and there is an additional process in the Sector Education and Training Authorities for the certification which normally takes longer but most of the time when the duration of the learnership comes the end, they provide some form of indicating that you completed the learnership successfully before providing you with your qualification which may take up to 3 months.
The most important thing is for you to hold a matric certificate to be able to be considered for a Transnet learnership. Mostly your matric/grade 12 should consist of mathematics, physical science and/or other subjects. You should be 18 years old up to 35 years old to qualify for consideration. You must have an ID book. Copy of your matric certificate together with a copy of your ID should be certified and not older than 3 months. You don’t pay anyone to be considered for a learnership, be careful of scams out there where people are asking for money from people to participate in a learnership. For any Transnet job, learnership, internship and all other related opportunities, you don’t pay a cent to be part of them.
