Activities at the Tshwane University of Technology this morning, got underway with large numbers of people queuing at its campuses in Pretoria, Soshanguve and Ga-Rankuwa.
The University would like to reiterate that it will not be able to accommodate Walk-In students. Prospective students are urged to make use of the University’s online application system.
There is currently still a limited number of space available in courses at the Polokwane, eMalahleni, Soshanguve, Ga-Rankuwa, Mbombela, Arcadia and Pretoria Campuses (see list below).The University has empathy with the aspirations of successful Matriculates to further their education, however, it would like to urge prospective students not to come to our campuses to look for placement

In line with its approved Student Enrolment Plan for 2018, TUT will only be able to enrol 15 056 first-year students in 2018.
The University will continuously update the public of the possible availability of spaces through its Website on www.tut.ac.za, it social media platforms and the media.
In addition, prospective students can also submit applications for study through the Central Application System (CAPS) on cach.dhet@gov.za.
The implementation of fee-free education announced by President Jacob Zuma in December 2017, and further communicated through DHET, will be done in close collaboration with all relevant Government and funding institutions, including NSFAS.
A contingency plan to manage the influx of people to our campuses and to provide safety to the University community and members of the public has been put in place. During a meeting with relevant role players including student leaders, it was once again agreed that no Walk-ins will be accommodated on campus and that all prospective students should apply through the online system for courses that still have space available.
Returning and senior students should provide proof of identity and the reason for their visit in the form of a written communication from TUT. At the Soshanguve South Campus, such students should use the main gate.
Registration for all students, including online
Residences will not be accessible before the actual registration process has commences. It is important for students to note that all students should register for the 2018 study year before, those who qualify and have been allocated residence accommodation can register for residence accommodation.
Parents and prospective students are also reminded that TUT is a cashless institution. All payments should be made at the bank and proof of payment submitted together with all applications. TUT’s banking details is available on its students who have to visit any of our campuses to attend interviews or other official TUT business, should please make use of the ASK ME assistants at the entrances to our campuses to complete their business. Such students should also provide a 2020 student ID card, a South African ID and have a printed copy of the TUT communication at hand to gain access.
